17/062             Minutes
17/062.1          COUNCIL RESOLVED that the Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting
                        of 7th August 2017 be signed by the meeting Chairman.

17/063             Outstanding Matters
17/063.1          Middleton Green Telephone Box Defibrillator.
17/063.1.1       Report from Councillor Collins.  The vegetation had been cleared from around the box
                        with particular help from Neil and Lynn Whittingham.  As this work has now been
                        completed it is necessary to move on with painting the box.
17/063.1.2       Signs stating that the defibrillators had been purchased resulting from funds raised by
                        Leigh WI had been fixed to this defibrillator and the unit located at the Farmers Arms.
17/063.2          Lime Close replacement bench
17/063.2.1       The existing damaged wooden bench had now been removed and scrapped.
17/063.2.2       RESOLVED to purchase a metal bench from David Ogilvie Ltd.  WW1 pattern, a black               bench with poppies painted red.  Cost £647 plus fixing kits at £9.50 and delivery £105.
                        A grant from the Borough Council, through Councillor Whittaker, of around £500 offered                         to offset the cost to the Parish.
                        Options to combine with other orders for benches by the Borough Council, or other
                        Parish Councils, to be considered in order to reduce delivery costs.

17/064             Finance
17/064.1          Financial Statement and Bank Account Reconciliation.
                        Check of Financial Statement against Bank Statements completed.
17/064.2          Invoice.  Grant Thornton UK LLP.  External Audit Fee.  £100 + £20 VAT.  Total £120.
                        RESOLVED to pay the invoice.  LGA 1972 s111.
17/064.3          Clerks Quarterly Salary. Gross £375.00 Net £300.00 PAYE £75.00  LGA 1972 s112(2)
17/064.3.1       RESOLVED to pay the Clerk the net salary of £300.00
17/064.3.2       RESOLVED to pay HMRC the PAYE of £75.00.

                        the unsightly state of the site generally.

17/066.1.1       Subsidised Bus Route Review - Consultation.
                        RESOLVED to opt for Option 1, retaining the Uttoxeter Mobility route which includes
                        the Wednesday service through Leigh.

17/066.4.1       Weekly updates forwarded to Member Councillors for information.

17/067.1          Clerk.  Thanks to Councillor Roe for cutting back the undergrowth on the footpath which
                        runs passed the Grass Dryer.
17/067.1.1       Discussion on the need to cut back the associated section of hedge.
                        Landowner and contractor to be contacted.   AGENDA.
17/067.2          Councillor Beaman.  Dodsleigh Lane at Godstone - roadside hedge requires cutting back.
17/067.3          Councillor Whittaker.  Outlining a County Council initiative giving support to rural
                        Public Houses in relation to creating local community hubs.

1          Advising the meeting about a recent break-in into a garage with chainsaws and strimmers stolen.

2          Questioning relating to this years Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner.
            Querying he arranged date and advertising details.

2.1       Response from Councillor Snowden.
            The set date is Saturday 9th December and the event will be advertised in the October edition
            of the Parish Magazine.
