Question on behalf of the Village Hall Committee regarding the current
repairs to the roof
Could the Parish Council pay the invoice and reclaim the VAT if the
Village Hall paid over the invoiced amount less the VAT content.
The answer is No, it would be illegal to do so.
The Parish Council could pay for the cost of the repair and reclaim VAT
if the Parish Council placed the order, paid out of its own funds, gives the
services to the Village Hall and does not receive payment from the Village
Hall.
